About Laura

As the CEO and founder of Mountainside Counseling Laura Moulton MA, LPC, NCC, CCTP-II, CIMHP  works with clients on conflicting matters they have in their personal and professional life. Laura is driven to help her clients navigate the complex, stressful, and often life changing matters often associated with emotional and mental health. Laura acts as a trusted therapist, always keeping things confidential, and protecting your rights as a client, creating a positive and safe environment. In this safe counseling environment Laura holds space for you to be a messy human, to let your emotions out of their cages and be free to explore them openly with her.

It is important in the field of counseling to maintain a collaborative space. Laura understands that while she may be the expert in mental health, you are the expert in your life. Thus, the counseling that you will receive here is one that you will work together with Laura to shape. If you’ve received counseling in the past that has felt less than collaborative, then you’ve come to the right place.

Laura loves to read! She is constantly reading on the latest psychology material and staying updated in the field.

Laura has her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Denver, with a major in Sociology and a minor in communications. Laura received cum laude and distinction for being in the top 10% of her University. Laura graduated with her Masters degree from Denver Seminary. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a National Certified Counselor.

Laura volunteers though Griefshare at local facilities, and a professional mentor for CU Denver students.

Outside of the office, when Laura is not reading, you will often find her spending time with her family and friends.  As a mother herself, she also understands the stress that comes along with parenthood, life changes, and family dynamics. She enjoys walking, hiking, and talking to everyone she meets!
