About Laura

Laura Moulton 

MA, LPC, NCC, CCTP-II, CIMHP 

Laura Moulton M.A, LPC, NCC, CCTP-II, CIMHP is the founder of Mountainside Counseling. The company was founded in 2017. Laura has been practicing since 2013 while she was in graduate school and graduated in 2015 with her Masters of Arts in Counseling from Denver Seminary.  Laura has worked in private practice settings, community health settings, and eventually opened her own practice.

Some things about Laura

Laura is a mother of three daughters and is a native to Colorado. Laura is married to a Veterinarian. She reads in her field for fun. No seriously, for fun. Neuroscience and brain chemistry, neurochemistry, neuro-pathways are just some things you will find Laura geeking out on daily. In working together with you, at some point you will hear about some new research or book being read that is directly related to what we are discussing in therapy. She is happy to share these resources with you too, so please ask about them.

Laura's top values are authenticity and wisdom. You may notice Laura has a direct approach and is serious about helping people heal well.

Laura’s background

Laura received her undergraduate degree from CU Denver in Sociology. She received cum laude and distinction for being in the top 10% of her university. The letters after her name mean: LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), MA (Masters Degree), NCC (National Certified Counselor), CCTP-II (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2 - currently there are only two levels to get) CIMHP (Certified Integrated Mental Health Professional: For example, she has education on nutritional knowledge and how it relates to mental health).
